Camp Lookout is designed for nature lovers entering first to fifth grade. Take on a new role each week and experience the natural world through hands on activities and exploration. Register for just one week or join us for all four! Registration is limited to 30 campers per session.
Camp Lookout consists of four weekly sessions, running from June 8 to July 2, 2026 at Selby Gardens’ Downtown Sarasota campus.
Camp hours: 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Drop-off begins at 8:30 a.m., pick-up by 3:15 p.m.
Weekly Camp Tuition: $230 for Selby Gardens members ($180 for week 4), $250 for non-members ($200 for week 4)
A limited number of need-based scholarships are available thanks to the generosity of the Longboat Key Garden Club. The application period is open from March 9th-May 15th. Email [email protected] for more information.
Around the World: Week 1- June 8- June 12
Explore the wonders of plants from around the world! Campers will journey through the gardens, discovering tropical, desert, and temperate plants while learning how different species grow and thrive in their native habitats. Each day encourages observation, curiosity, and a deeper appreciation for the incredible diversity of our planet’s plant life.
Seeds of Discovery: Week 2- June 15- June 19
Get your hands in the soil and watch things grow! Campers will learn about gardening, plant life cycles, and the environment as they plant seeds and observe growth firsthand. This week is filled with hands-on exploration and meaningful lessons about caring for the green world around us.
Water World: Week 3- June 22- June 26
Dive into the science and importance of water! Campers will investigate how water moves through nature, explore its impact on plants and animals, and discover ways to conserve this vital resource. Each day blends science, discovery, and engaging activities that bring learning to life.
Art of Nature: Week 4- June 29- July 2 (no camp on 7/3)
Unleash creativity inspired by nature! Campers will explore the colors, textures, and shapes found in plants and landscapes while experimenting with painting, drawing, sculpture, and natural materials. Throughout the week, campers will discover how nature inspires artists and express their own creativity in new and exciting ways.
