Program Details

For over fifty years, Selby Gardens has been honored to receive the support of our community, and our gratitude has never been more pronounced than in the wake of Hurricanes Helene and Milton. Through the generosity of our donors, volunteers, members, and our community, Selby Gardens was able to welcome visitors back to both our Downtown Sarasota and Historic Spanish Point campuses within days of the storms, once again offering people a place of respite and beauty in a challenging moment.

Your continued generosity this holiday season is essential to Selby Gardens’ future and our ongoing research, conservation, and education efforts. When you make your tax-deductible contribution before the end of the year, gifts of any size up to $75,000 will be matched dollar-for-dollar by the Amicus Foundation Challenge, doubling the impact made to Selby Gardens.

With the opening of Phase One of the Master Plan for the Downtown Sarasota campus, Selby Gardens now has the infrastructure in place to bring world-class exhibitions and programs, adult and youth education, cutting-edge research, and access to our region for decades to come.

Because of your support and others like you, Selby Gardens has been able to:

  • Become the world’s first net-positive energy botanical garden complex.
  • Bolster our living and preserved plant collections and the global contributions we make to plant research.
  • Showcase major exhibitions featuring groundbreaking, interdisciplinary fine art and horticultural displays.
  • Offer schools the opportunity to extend their classrooms outdoors with standards-aligned guided programs for K-12 school groups in natural sciences, archaeology, and history.
  • Deepen the relationship between people and nature by understanding how biodiverse ecosystems are interconnected and dependent on one another.
  • Host events such as Lights in Bloom®, a celebration comprising more than two million lights and activities for all ages at our Downtown Sarasota campus.
  • Provide family fun with Performances at the Point concerts, Spooktacular, the Garden Music Series, Enchanted Garden Family Festival, and more.
